Buy a car · Allama Iqbal Town
Dense, busy and enormous, with more small cars for sale than anywhere else in Lahore. Cars on Carbid are inspected by our own team before they go to auction, so you bid on a written report rather than a seller's description. Anything listed without one is labelled.
Allama Iqbal Town is less a neighbourhood than a small city. Karim Block, Nizam Block, Hunza Block and the rest between them hold a population that would be a decent sized town anywhere else, and the used car supply reflects that scale. If you want a small hatchback in Lahore, this is where the most of them are.
Scale brings variety in both directions. There are genuinely well kept first cars here, bought by families who could not afford to get it wrong and looked after them accordingly. There are also plenty of cars on their fourth owner, running on the cheapest parts the last workshop had in stock. The two look identical in a photograph.
The lanes themselves leave a mark. Streets here are narrow, parking is tight and Moon Market on a weekend evening is a contact sport, so bumper scuffs and mirror damage are close to universal. What matters is separating that from real structural repair, which is a line on our report rather than a judgement call you have to make in a stranger's driveway.
Large families on a fixed budget, students and first-time buyers, and small traders buying a cheap runabout that has to work every day.
Cars from Iqbal Town attract bidders from across Lahore, which is what keeps pricing honest in both directions: you are not competing against a handful of local buyers, and you are not stuck with whatever happens to be listed nearby this week.
Not from the photographs, and usually not from a test drive around the block either. The reliable signals are wear patterns against stated mileage, paint depth on every panel and the service record, which are the three things our inspection reports in detail.
Often, because supply is high. That is a real advantage as long as you know which car you are buying, and a real trap if you do not.
Our own team, using a 135 point checklist covering engine, transmission, body, electricals, suspension, brakes, tyres, air conditioning and the registration file. The full report is published on the listing before bidding opens.
